With a choice of naturally decorative colors and patterns, slate tile installation is made easy due to each Cabot slate tile being manufactured to precision. Each tile is split on one side to create the rustic effects you expect from premium slate tile. Cabot Slate is a high quality, first grade slate tile with a natural split face and cailbrated back. Cabot slate tiles are multi-colored slates which exhibit several colors per tile and may vary widely in color between tiles. As with all natural slate the tile thicknesses may vary. 12in.x12in. tiles are usually between 3/8in.-7/16in.; 16in.x16in. are usually between 1/2in.-9/16in. but both tile sizes can vary slightly beyond these ranges. Regarding thickness tolerance Montauk slate is, +/-1 mm for tiles calibrated in 10 mm. US would be 3/8” thick and tolerance would be +/- 1/32” (.8mm)
