Prefabricated Granite Countertop

Prefabricated vs custom cabinetry

As a custom cabinet maker, designer and installer, working for www.CabinetsEtcOC.com I installed both in my own custom cabinet and cabinets of the contractors who have purchased through home stores or directly from manufacturers.

I found that over 90% of my prefabricated are wrong, either with ordered cabinets damaged, or incomplete misordered. In the world there are large manufacturers prefabricated catering to hundreds of kitchens per month. When there is a problem with your order, the client waits and waits for usually about six weeks before the order is corrected with a new shipment. In the while everything about the kitchen set is on standby, such as counters, back splashes plumbing, etc. Many homeowners begin to feel frustrated at this point and begin to lose confidence in your contractor. Contractors who buy prefabricated cabinets do not want you to know about these potential problems.

So why contractors are buying these mobile homes? The cost is the number one reason. I used to build custom cabinets for a contractor general renovation, which began saving money to buy manufactured homes. When I say "save money", I mean for the contractor. The contractor make these cabinets so high, they were doing a great benefit and the burden on the price measure. I have to admit that, when these stoves were finally (months later) looked good, but the final cost, wow.

However, I installed these cabinets for them. I saw first hand how they were built and used materials. These companies, which I will not name, use materials such as 1 / 2 particle board, with a simulated wood veneer vinyl and 1 / 8 "back hardboard. The solid wood is used, sometimes it was so distorted, you could do with her rocking. Almost all use hot glue to attach corrugated part of the face. We had to take care of the installation of these cabinets delicate. A drop, and collapse more likely. I think that's why a full load of these prefabricated always have one or two appear with some damage.

Now, I know that these large manufacturers do not deliver the materials to select the cabinets. Use what ever is in its wooden stock. Must be the actual prices, so the materials and craftsmanship plays an important role in their manufacturing process. Get build them as fast as you can, with minimal cost and to address the shortcomings later (much later).

Enough about prefabricated, let me tell you a little about custom cabinets. As I said in the beginning of this article I am a custom builder and designer as well. When I'm dealing directly with the homeowner, I can get an idea of their wants, needs and functions. Having designed, built and installed over a kitchen, I have a great sense of practicality and not just work. I'm sorry, that before one can design a kitchen, must be installed within a kitchen.

When designing a kitchen, try to use all available space without compromising ease of use. Because my office is customary, I do not use fillers. My top cabinet found on the roof without any beteween space, empty or 6 loads. "custom cabinets are built always true to their specifications and manufacturers some suggested specs.

In building my custom cabinets, I can hand select hardwoods and choice for straight achieve lasting beauty. I use a strong 3 / 4 "birch plywood prefinished my boxes with a 1 / 4" matching layers again. My face frames join with wood glue (there is a reason that is "wood" glue and not "hot" glue) and jointery hole pocket. I also do my sockets separate cabinets, so you can be level and plumb with ease (granite installers we want for this.) When possible, I will build several cabinets as a cabinet, instead of building separate closets. This looks much cleaner without all the seams of the joints. I also install prefinished cabinets with a conversion custom spray painting (top line of wood finishes). With many finishes to choose from, you can find the colors to suit your style. The options offer advice along with design gives our customers confidence in their decisions.

I can include turned legs, fluted columns and arches highlight the beauty of a custom-designed kitchen and make your vision a reality. Is your kitchen, your living space and home. Why turn a "manufacturer to decide what can or can not have. Do not just with prefabricated furniture. We will design your kitchen to its full potential. There is no better feeling than knowing you have money worth it!

I work with general contractors, who have the best reputation in the contracting community. This not only save you money, but bring your project along in due time. I also work independently. Description

This is a video on how to fabricate granite undermount kitchen sink for Do-It-Yourselfers. The project was to replace a top mount granite kitchen sink with an undermount granite kitchen sink. We took a piece of matching "pre-fabbed" granite slab (by pre-fabbed we mean the edge has been pre-fabricated), cut the sink hole and polished the entire sink edges. In this 28 minute video, Buren Smith, our 25-year veteran stone fabricator, demonstrates the following skills and techniques: 1. Templating; 2. Using variable speed angle grinder; 3. Straight cutting with grinder and turbo blade; 4. Curved cutting with contour blade; 5. Smoothing curve cuts with drum wheel; 6. Polishing undermount sink with dry polishing pads; 7. Drill a faucet hole with Sure-Guide and dry core bit. This video demonstrates fabrication of a rectangular undermount sink. These skills and tools can also be applied to fabricating oval undermount sinks and vessel bowls.
