Bathroom Countertop Prices

Is your ugly old sink faucet or does it in the way when there is a sink full of dishes? Cool in your kitchen or bathroom with a new sink faucet.

Step One: Choose a Faucet

Select a faucet that requires the same number of openings in the sink faucet that today, and the same separation between the openings.

If not, you will not need to cut into the sheetrock wall, but may have to drill a hole in the top the sink counter. This is in case that does not have a spray hose and / or pump soap and want one on the side.

Note: To facilitate the installation, instead of using the supply hoses that came with the faucet, consider buying flexible stainless steel supply hoses. These are more reliable and lasts for years.

Step Two: Disconnect the supply hose and taps

It's smart to always use protection eye when working on home remodeling projects.

Under the sink: turn the handles of the two valves clockwise until you can. If there are no valves, or you can not turn them off the water, where it enters the house.
Open the faucets to drain water from pipes. Use a wrench to Remove the hoses from the exhaust pipes of copper under the tap.

Use a basin wrench to unscrew the nuts on the existing faucet and the spout - whether nuts are trapped, use penetrating oil to loosen them. Lift the faucets and spout, and then use a putty knife to scrape off any plumber's putty or burns at the top of the sink.

Step three: Install the faucet spout and New

Follow the instructions that came with the faucet. Them give specific details for the installation of the spout and handle. The following are general instructions.

Insert the faucets and spout above sink, with plumbers putty or silicone to seal the surface, if they have a gasket.

Under the sink, loosely install the seals, washers, nuts and other equipment for the spout and taps. Align them over the sink and then tighten.

Step four: Install the power Hoses

To the right, tightly wrap the threaded fittings at the end of the copper tube cocks with Teflon tape - the tape helps form a watertight seal.

Use two wrenches to connect the hoses to the taps (for a two-valve faucet) or the power adapter (with a tap of a valve): one to hold the copper pipe not to break the faucet, and one for tightening the nuts.

Place a bucket under the sink to catch leaks. Remove the aerator from the end of the spout - if you can not loosen by hand, wrap a rag around it and turn with an adjustable wrench. Open the dampers and water faucets turning on for several minutes to clean any impurity. Replace the aerator.

Step Five: Remove the drain assembly

Remove the drain assembly, including sink stopper, the flange (the ring on the sink drain opening), the drain body (the tube just below the mouth of drainage) and lock nut, the shooter that opens and closes the cap, and the pieces that hold the bar lift the cap.

Use the spatula to scrape the old silicone caulk and the drain opening.

Step Six: Install the new outlet

Place a ring of putty or silicone sealant around the opening Drain and place the tab above the sink.
Under the sink, put the drain body to the flange and then use a wrench to tighten the lock nut to secure the connection. Make sure the flange is seated in the hole for drainage and remove excess sealant.

Step Seven: Install cap

Drop the lift rod through the hole in the faucet and then, under the sink, hold the extension rod Lifting (plastic or metal strips with a lot of holes along its length) with the thumb screw or other hardware that comes with the faucet.
Above the sink, put the stopper in the drain. Under the sink, put the stopper control rod horizontally through the hole in the side of the drain body and then into the hole at the base of the cap.

Pass the end of the control rod through a hole in the spring clip through the holes in one strap handle and then the other hole in the spring clip.

Use the handle to open and close the filter, if not fully open and close properly, the thread control rods for a different hole in the belt of the shooter.

Step Eight: Make sure everything is working properly

After all other steps have been completed and all joints are tightened enough, turn on the valves. At the tap, cold water first, slowly, just opens and then, if the water hose pipes or jumping, waiting to come out jumping and then turn the cold water full blast. This will help prevent air bubbles can in the plumbing system to cause water to splash everywhere when water is used. Repeat steps on the hot side.
